Pastor Brian, GLS Interim Pastor, comes to us with 8 years experience in ministry. He began his career as Contemporary Worship Director and Pastoral Intern at First Lutheran Church in Greensboro. For the past 3-1/2 years, he has worked at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville as Director of Contemporary Worship and Creative Arts.
Pastor Brian is a founding member of two 501c3 organizations and a published author. He has his Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University as well as his Graduate Certificate in Spirituality and Health from the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Before going into ministry, Pastor Brian worked for two different software companies. He loves camping, mountain biking, playing music, hiking and watching Wake Forest sports.
Pastor Brian has been married to Elizabeth for 10 years. She has lived in North Carolina her whole life, growing up in Rocky Mount. She has her bachelors degree from UNC Chapel Hill and her masters from UNC Charlotte. She teaches AP History at Northwest Guilford high school in Greensboro where she serves as the department chair of social studies. Elizabeth also heads up one of the largest key clubs in North Carolina. Elizabeth loves Panthers football and Tar Heels basketball. Elizabeth enjoys playing music (singing, piano and is learning cello). Elizabeth loves to read, and looks forward to sitting on the beach with a good book and some warm sunshine.
Brian, his 18 years old son is finishing his senior year at Atlee high school in Richmond Virginia. He plans on becoming a respiratory therapist. Pastor Brian says he is a great kid - kind, generous and has a servant’s heart. He works part time at Panera bread and has received employee of the month twice! Brian plays bass and enjoys playing music with our contemporary Christian band in Thomasville. Brian loves the outdoors: camping, hiking, biking, football, basketball, etc.
